Art,
Wow I really miss blogging a lot. I use to blog quiet a lot many years ago and then I stopped. Not exactly sure why either? Well I started looking at some of my favorite artists old blogs and it was so inspiring. It’s neat to see them grow as an individual and also as an artist, getting a glimpse inside their life and mind. And in a lot of ways it makes me feel good because I realize that I am not alone in my art struggles. I tend to get bored pretty fast sometimes. Something I am trying to practice is working on a few pieces at the same time, that way when I do feel bored or frustrated I can move on to something else.
Well I guess this is my first post in awhile. I will post pictures of my progress on this last piece. It’s graphite on wood and right now I am trying to figure out the best approach to get it ready for paint. I sealed it with clear gesso but while I was gessoing it I noticed the wood grains seemed rough. I am now trying to figure out if I should sand it down and start again. maybe sealing it with GAC 100? I guess I won’t know unless I try each way. So I think I will start on some really small pieces. Guess we’ll see how that goes.
